The Colombian Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta is a
non-profit Organization, recognized by the Justice Ministry under the resolution
Nr. 2250 of July 24, 1958. Within the objectives of the Association is the
assistance of the victims of extraordinary events and the war
wounded. Since 1992 the Colombian
Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, has received
international assistance through AmeriCares.
In July 1997, the fist shipment was received and distribute in the cities
of Medellín, Pereira and Bogotá. These shipments continue to arrive
periodically into the country. During the first semester of
1999, due to the earthquake in the Coffee Region,
important shipments of medicines donated by Americares were received. The following is a brief list of institutions that have received assistance from the Colombian Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta:
